The Secret To killing Cockroaches

It is always best to contact your local cockroach control expert before attempting the removal of roaches yourself. The last thing you want is to spend a lot of time and money trying to kill cockroaches, to then find that you didn’t kill them all and they came back a few weeks later. Most cockroach control professionals will kill all cockroaches and provide a follow-up service a few weeks later to make sure they have not appeared again.

If you don’t have access to a cockroach control service and are trying to find out ways to do it yourself. Then you may want to try boric acid. There is a lot of information about this powder online, but here I can give a summary of how best to use it. But like I said at the start, try to seek professional advice before attempting this at home.

Cockroaches can get into your home via the plumbing, drain pipes, cracks and holes in your house. They come inside looking for food, shelter and moisture. Not all are bad, for example, the native Australian cockroach is not bad. It is actually good for the environment and usually comes inside by mistake. Best to just pick them up and put them back outside.

Use Boric Acid to Kill Cockroaches

Cockroaches are pretty dam disgusting pests. They carry bacteria, germs, drop faeces and smear the ground. What I find most disturbing is that they even eat other cockroaches. This is where boric acid comes into play. When a cockroach dies from ingesting boric acid, another roach may eat it, then they will also die. It is a cycle of death for the cockroaches. But, you need to be careful about where you place the acid. Though it is said to be not harmful to pets or humans, it can cause a big mess if not applied properly.

How To Apply Boric Acid

You want to locate the places where the cockroach can travel. The path in which the cockroach will walk. Cockroaches don’t eat Boric acid, they walk through it. This means that the acid powder gets on their body and legs. When they clean their body, they digest the powder and this kills them. Other cockroaches will eat the dead cockroach. So it is very important to locate the places and put a small amount onto the surface. You don’t want to have a home full of boric powder everywhere. It will be very messy.

Boric acid is a good choice for cockroach control if done correctly. If you miss the mark, then no cockroaches will be killed. If you are not sure how to solve your cockroach problem, contact an expert to get the best advice possible.
